Zimbabwe Independent apologises to Chatunga for Banc ABC story. Says sources mistook him for Robert Mugabe Jr

The Zimbabwe Independent has apologised to Chatunga for writing that Banc ABC denied him a loan when in fact it was his brother Robert Mugabe Jr.

In a statement the paper says that their sources mistook Chatunga for his brother Robert. Part of the statement reads,

BancABC, in a letter to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), has since revealed that it was not Bellarmine Chatunga who visited the bank but, in fact, his brother Robert Mugabe Junior. Our sources, who saw Robert Jnr at the bank, mistook him for Bellarmine Chatunga.

The paper says that Robert Jr approached Banc ABC accompanied by a poten-tial business partner with a view to discussing a maize importation facility.

The paper goes on to apologise to Chatunga for any harm the story may have caused,

In the circumstances, we apologise to Bellarmine Chatunga for the harm the story may have caused.
