Rev Chivaviro’s Ebenezer nominated for South Africa Crown Gospel Award

Gospel musician, Togarepi Chivaviro, will fight it out with Nduduzo Matse of Swaziland and Nigeria’s Vitus Onyeneto Onyeze for the Best of Africa category at the South Africa Crown Gospel Awards scheduled for November 27 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa.

The South Africa-based artiste told NewsDay yesterday that he was honoured by the nomination and that it would open doors for other Zimbabwean artists,

This is a great honour capping a great year for us in the music industry. God’s favour has certainly been with us this year and, indeed, we say Ebenezer’s nomination to the Crown means a lot. This is the most prestigious gospel awards event in South Africa, where the ‘who is who’ of South African gospel music gather together. Rubbing shoulders with those international icons is certainly a privilege. We pray that maybe this time, we may come home with the crown, but that is just a bonus. The nomination itself means a lot to us.
