Banc ABC dismisses reports that they denied Mugabe's son a loan
Banc ABC issued a press statement responding to a front news story by the Zimbabwe Independent that they had denied a loan to Robert Mugabe’s son, Chatunga. The Zimbabwe Independent wrote that Banc ABC rejected Chatunga’s,
US$380 000 loan application to fund his obscure businesses and lavish lifestyle as it seeks to contain non-performing credit to politically exposed persons on its books.
In the press statement Banc ABC said that Chatunga has never approached their bank for a loan and that they have no relationship with him,
Banc ABC wishes to categorically put on record that, Mr Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe has no relationship whatsoever with Banc ABC and that he has never at any point sought a loan or any other facility from the bank.
