Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo’s personal assistant, Ms Chipo Mukabeta, was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and was still detained at Mabelreign Police Station last night.
ZACC sources that spoke to The Herald last night said that Ms Mukabeta’s arrest was in connection with charges being faced by Moyo. Efforts by the publication to get a comment from ZAAC spokesperson Ms Phyllis Chikundura were fruitless.
The arrest comes barely a week after Moyo lost his constitutional challenge against his arrest by ZACC and is set to appear before a magistrate to answer to charges of misappropriating over $400 000 from the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef).
