Anne Nhira launches online talk show, trolled during first broadcast

Former Studio 263 actress Anne Nhira has launched her own talk show, Masuwo with Anne Nhira, just weeks after playing a pivotal role in getting South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu banned from performing at the Harare International Carnival. The show is broadcast on the Facebook pages ZimdiTv and Masuwo with Anne Nhira every Tuesday at 4 PM.

During her first live broadcast, some Facebook users who were still smarting from the banning of Zodwa Wabantu trolled Nhira. Some of the hecklers attacked Nhira for her dressing, her accent, her, hair, etc. Some went as far as body shaming her.

Anne Nhira is a popular Zimbabwean actress, model, film producer and talent manager who rose to prominence in the early 2000s when she featured in the soap opera Studio 263. Nhira also tried her hand in singing in 2013 when she released a single, "The One". Nhira is based in Johannesburg where she has been since 2008. In August 2017, Nhira came back into the spotlight after she wrote a letter to the Ministry of Tourism, criticising the decision to hire Zodwa Wabantu to perform at the Harare International Carnival.
