Highlanders fans start #Asifuni Bumbulu Dollar Campaign to raise money for PSL Fine

The Sunday match between Highlanders and Dynamos had to be abandoned after part of Barbourfields Stadium resembled a war zone following Dynamos’ contentious equalizer. The Bosso fans were unhappy with the assistant referee’s decision to let the goal stand when they clearly felt that it had been scored from an offside position. They made their feelings plain by throwing missiles onto to the pitch and engaging in running battles with the police.

The Bulawayo giants are expected to answer for events that transpired at the stadium, and given that this is not the first time this has happen at Barbourfields, the PSL may throw the book at Highlanders.

Anticipating serious backlash from the PSL, Bosso fans have started a campaign to raise funds to pay the PSL fine. They campaign has been called the #AsifuniBumbulu Dollar Campaign and it is meant to encourage Bosso fans to donate at least $1 to the club for the anticipated fine. Loosely translated #Asifuni Bumbulu means “we do not want nonsense.”

Fans have been using microblogging site Twitter to post their contributions and to encourage others to follow suite. Here is an image from the club’s facebook page.
