Potraz forces NetOne to reverse new data promotions
The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has announced that it forcing local mobile network operator NetOne to reverse its new data promotions.
In a Facebook post Potraz said:
Today POTRAZ instructed NetOne Zimbabwe to stop running all promotions that have not been authorised by the Regulator. NetOne was presented with a letter to this effect today. All mobile operators are aware of the procedures they need to follow before introducing a promotion.
FeedbackThis announcement comes on the same day that NetOne unveiled a number of changes to its mobile broadband lineup, including the reintroduction of daily bundles that provided subscribers with 300 MB of data for $1.
This comes after a row over data tariffs took place last week , which resulted in Econet and Supa Mandiwanzira blaming each other in a war of words.
