Potraz clarifies NetOne Promo reversal, it only applies to newly capped Facebook and Twitter bundles

Earlier on we announced that Potraz had ordered NetOne to reverse its new data promotions.  However after news of the promotion reversal started spreading, Potraz reached out to Techzim to clarify the said reversal.

The regulator said that the reversal did not apply to NetOne‘s new data bundles.  It only affected NetOne’s WhatsApp and Twitter bundles.  These bundles had been unlimited until a few days ago when NetOne placed data caps.  As expected, subscribers were unhappy about this change and complained to Potraz. Potraz then responded by reversing the data caps on these bundles.  According to Potraz, NetOne has also been asked to justify why they placed the data caps as this was an adjustment to a promotion done without notifying and getting clearance from the regulator.
