War Veterans say they are happy with being expelled from Zanu PF

Speaking to NewsDay, Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans’ Association (ZNLWVA) spokesperson, Douglas Mahiya said the Christopher Mutsvangwa-led executive was happy to be expelled from Zanu PF.

Mahiya said,

How do they explain the idea of expelling war veterans through one door and then seek to bring them back by the back-door? We are happy with being expelled from G40 and have no regrets. If anything, the expulsions have allowed us to operate with a national stature and we will continue to demand that the ideals of the liberation struggle are realised including the democracy we all crave for.

Victor Matemadanda, Douglas Mahiya, Francis Nhando and Headman Moyo were expelled following the publication of a communique which denounced Mugabe and withdrew the war veteran’s support.
