RBZ dismisses reports of a fuel crisis, warns fuel companies not to create false crisis

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has dismissed reports of a fuel crisis in the country saying financial institutions and the apex bank are continuously making foreign exchange available for fuel companies.

Central Bank Governor Dr John Mangudya has cleared the air on reports that fuel companies are failing to access adequate export earnings to pay for fuel saying weekly allocation of US$12 million enough for fuel and the economy’s needs are being constantly paid.

Dr Mangudya said people should not confuse the impending bond notes introduction as having any bearing to fuel imports because the two are not related at all.
